Make Media Player Private

When you use Media Player, the program tries to go out on the Internet so that it can find information for you when you ask the program to play a music CD. You may find some of the information, like song titles and album art useful, but Media Player doesn’t stop there. Media Player also identifies your copy of itself to any Web site where it’s getting its information. Here’s how to shut that process down.

From within Media Player,

  • Click on Tools (Menu).
  • Select Options (from the context menu).
  • Click on the Player tab (if not already selected).
  • Remove the check mark in the box to the left of “Connect to the Internet.”

EQ

Here’s how to adjust Media Players equalizer to the settings that sound best to you.

1. Under “Now Playing,” click the down arrow.

2. Select Enhancements (from the context menu).

3. Select Graphic Equalizer (from the sub menu).

By default, they’re set at flat. Use the sliders to adjust the equalization.
